Adapted from information shared by Police Scotland through the Council’s Licensing Forum recently on which NTBCC have a representative.
“Please see the attached information on the Railway_Guardian Toolkit – a British Transport Police led ‘app’ campaign – which allows rail users to download an app and use this to report criminal or inappropriate behaviour whilst using the rail network. The user can also share ‘real time’ locations on their journey with trusted friends/contacts.
The ‘Railway Guardian’ app is an innovative new two-way communication platform between British Transport Police and rail users, designed to encourage reporting of concerns and crimes on the rail network through a more precise format.
Please feel free to circulate this information more widely if you feel there will be benefit.”
Police Scotland will also be sharing it with licensed premises, especially in the lead up to the festive period given that many revellers and staff members will be using the train (hopefully) through this period.
