NTBCC submits deputation on CCWEL to George Street proposals

The New Town and Broughton Community Council has submitted a written deputation to be considered by the Transport and Environment Committee at their meeting on 30 January 2025. We have  raised concerns about the proposals for alternative active travel routes that may be required during the construction phase of the George Street and New Town Project including plans to introduce cycling contra-flow exemptions on four streets in our area. We consider that these plans will have an adverse impact on the safety of pedestrians and should not be progressed until a final decision is taken on the George Street and New Town Project.
