George Street and First New Town : Business and Resident Engagement

The New Town & Broughton Community Council along with other stakeholders have been engaged in discussions regarding plans for George Street over the past few years & have also had regular discussions at NTBCC meetings, most recently in December 2020.

These proposals have now progressed to the stage where views of  the wider public (both businesses and residents of George Street and First New Town) are being sought on the final concept design proposals and their operation.

There is now an opportunity for local residents to become involved – there are 8 sessions planned – via Microsoft Teams – either on 2nd or 3rd March for small groups (maximum 8 people at each) with registration through Eventbrite (see link below).

The following is adapted from an email sent to the community council  covering these sessions.

“Further to my recent email, we have now set up an Eventbrite Page  to enable residents to book onto one of eight 1.5 hour sessions that are being held.  Clicking on the box below will take you to the page.

We will shortly issue a flyer around businesses and residents to further publicise the sessions – I’m happy to send you an electronic version of the flyer if you’d like to share it via your Twitter feed or website.

We will limit attendance at each meeting to 8 participants to ensure we can have a good and detailed discussion.  Therefore, we’ll need to restrict attendance to 1 slot per household at present.  If we have slots still available as we get closer to the 2nd and 3rd I’ll come back to relevant parties.

The meetings will be held using Microsoft Teams and we will send a link out in advance of the meeting.  We will also send a link to some background materials.”

If you’d like any further information at this stage please contact me directly.”
