Changeworks’ videos on reducing energy bills

adapted from an email forwarded by Edinburgh Council

I’m following up on the email I sent previously about a series of films Changeworks has created in response to lockdown. All four films can now be viewed here:

As we continue to adjust to Covid-19 we’re all spending more time at home and using more energy than normal. Many households are experiencing financial strain and will be worried about the effect this will have on their energy bills. These films provide some advice and support on managing energy use and where to get help with heating and electricity concerns.

You can also still refer households you think would benefit from energy advice and fuel billing/debt support. Changeworks can support people to access funding they may be eligible for.

Where to get help with your gas and electricity concerns

'As we continue to adjust to Covid-19 we’re all spending more time at home and using more energy than normal. Many households are experiencing financial strain and will be worried about the effect this will have on their energy bills.

Whilst Changeworks is unable to provide face to face outreach services to support people looking for energy and fuel billing/debt advice, we are still here to help. We’ve teamed up with SGN to produce a series of short films providing advice and support on managing energy use and where to get help with heating and electricity concerns.

Our first video – where to get help with your gas and electricity concerns – is now live on YouTube.

We’ll be publishing three more videos over the next few weeks and we’ll be in touch to share these with you too.

Edinburgh flat residents – what do you think of on street recycling bins?

(adapted from an email from Changeworks)

If you live in a flat in Edinburgh, Changeworks would like to ask your views of the shared waste and recycling bins on your street. The results of this survey will help the City of Edinburgh Council improve the service. The short online survey, which only takes 5-10 minutes to complete, is available to Edinburgh residents until 23 October 2017.

By taking part in the survey, you can enter a prize draw* with the chance to win several prizes including vouchers for Pizza Express and Cineworld, and family passes to the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh. You will also be offered the chance to attend a paid focus group, scheduled for November 2017, where feedback and ideas will be explored in more depth.

You can also follow @ChangeworksUK on Facebook and Twitter to share and retweet their posts about the recycling survey.
