Edinburgh Council has stated that ‘CCs can approve minutes, and take other decisions, remotely’, as so long as they ensure that ‘remote meetings are as accessible to members of the public and (as) well-advertised as possible’. Continue reading

“We are a group of university students pursuing a MSc in Architectural Conservation at the University of Edinburgh. Since last semester we have been taking a course on Urban Conservation, and as a part of our Urban Conservation coursework, we are analysing the area of Bellevue Crescent, for which we require your help. We believe that the voice of the community is extremely important in any proposed development or recommended urban conservation strategy. The questions in the survey seek to gauge information on demographics, housing, social aspects, place, travel, and any further recommendations you may have.
We are looking for people living in either Bellevue Crescent, Bellevue Rd, Bellevue Pl., Bellevue Terrace, Bellevue St., Cochran Terrace, Cornwallis Pl., E. Claremont St., E. London St., Drummond Place, London St., Melgund Terrace, Rodney St., and Scotland St. to fill out our survey.”
The link to the survey is HERE
We have been advised that it should not take you more than a minute or two to complete (although having completed the survey, this may be optimistic!).
“We are extremely grateful for your help. Should you have any further information regarding the survey or our project, please feel free to reach out to Shaheera Pesnani email@example.com ”

PLANNED WORKS ON EAST CLAREMONT STREET / BELLEVUE ROAD – starting 13 July 2020 for 8 weeks.
Dear Community Council Members,
As part of an investment in Edinburgh’s roads and pavements for 2020/21, the east and west footways on East Claremont Street between the junctions of Claremont Grove and Broughton Road will be reconstructed soon with new paving flags. In addition, the west footway on Bellevue Road between Green St and West Annandale Street will also be resurfaced. These works will also include a renewal of the existing drainage facilities and an upgrade of the street lighting.
This work was previously scheduled to commence back in the Autumn of 2019 but got put back for varying unforeseen circumstances.
This work is now scheduled to commence on Monday, 13 July 2020 and will take approximately eight weeks to complete both locations. All works shall be carried out between the hours of 0700 to 1900 Monday to Friday.
To allow for the safe execution of the works, a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is in place to suspend on-street parking as necessary. This is done to allow the works to be carried out safely and remove parked vehicles from the works area.

I’d like to give you a brief update on our work in the Bellevue area which continues to progress well.
As you are aware we’re carrying out our work in five phases to help minimise disruption as much as possible. Phase three of our work will start in Bellevue on Monday 2 September. For approximately four weeks, both Bellevue and Bellevue Crescent will be closed and parking restrictions will be in place. If possible, we’ll keep some parking spaces available. Signed diversion routes will be in place for motorists and commuters.
We’ll be working Monday to Friday between 7am and 4pm, and extended hours and weekends when possible. Local residents will receive a letter in the next few days.
We know that this is a busy area and wish to assure everyone that work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
